Much appreciated - excellent photos to enable visual link to my research on husband's 'Duthie' fisherfolk ancestors of 18th&19th century, (from land down under).
Sierra and Will are right. In addition, know where you are dumping the snow - no one wants to shovel the same snow twice, right? :) More importantly, have a good breakfast before you get on the roof as you will expend a lot of energy during shoveling.
Roughly 15 years ago I used to cover that area doing tv repairs and the tower and `house` always fascinated me. I was so tempted to go ask to look round. The tall tower I remember WAS rebuilt with new brick to a degree, what year was that.. one could see a building and a tower and walls. I find this report very sad. It had to date from at least 15thC.. why wasnt it looked after..could it not have been a tourist attraction? Regards, K.Geddes.Herts.UK.
Before it was "an area of small industries", Bugle Street in 1896 was slum housing, as this archive photograph shows: http://www.flickr.com/photos/m...
I agree with what Sierra said. I suggest you use snow shovels that have open ends that would allow you to easily scoop the snow off to the side. Pay close attention to the weather, okay? Extremely cold temperatures can be a serious health hazard if you don’t take precautions.
The image simply says that with the use of limestone blocks, you can create any design for your patio, retaining wall etc. You just have to be creative in the blocks positioning.
My Great Great grandfather William Jones donated the land for the Church to be built. Can i get a photo of the Plaque from inside the Church. Thanking you, Joe Walker
Museums should always have a place like that in the picture. Rooftops are areas for sensible and intellectual conversation. The museums visitors could talk about everything they've seen in the museum on the rooftop. It's really the best place to share ideas while drinking a glass of wine.
This one's not the first one. The first one was on the opposite side of the road and was next to a horse and rider sign. Just funny I guess, and we all (mostly) like it. Council tried to clean it off several times, but it went right back up when they did, so they gave up. And there's your explanation! X
It was never a school crossing sign. The man n he duck has been drawn on and cleaned loads of times until the sticker was made and the council gave up trying to remove it.
