San Fernando Gardens is a housing project located in the Pacoima district of the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles, California. San Fernando Gardens was built during World War II to house workers at the nearby Lockheed aerospace manufacturing facilities in Burbank. The project was racially integrated; its wartime black population was the first significant African-American population in the San Fernando Valley.
