130 mWellington Road or Gelderd Road? Looking down on the A58 as it passes under the railway bridge and approaches Armley Gyratory. The AtoZ shows the road as Wellington Road, but a street sign on the railway bridge support to the left says Gelderd Road, which is shown starting further south on the AtoZ. Looking at the first edition Ordnance Survey explains the conundrum. Gelderd Road originally joined Wellington Road as they came under the railway bridge, but when the Armley Gyratory was created it obliterated this end of Gelderd Road, leaving the street sign as the only indication that it was here.
