| Title | Old naval depot In this quiet and leafy setting the buildings of the former naval depot look sinister and forbidding. This valley was pronounced by the C18 local historian Richard Fenton as the most beautiful in Pembrokeshire but it has been inaccessible to the public since 1939 when it was taken over by the navy for the storage, proving and testing of mines and munitions. These blast-proof sheds complement 58 underground tunnels served by narrow-gauge rail tracks. Decommissioned in 1994, the facility is now privately owned.
